Your view is right myfriend. No one cant be in your shoes but it cant be channeled at L1's. ppl here feel the heat of outsourcing through H1/L1 as thats the route taken. But if there is limited oursourcing everyone is happy. We are missing that and technically that cant happen due to trade issues... as i said If not H1 then L1 else B2....... On B2 one is NOT supposed to work they still abuse.. .

That is correct, 9 months and then I will return to my country for good.

It is not easy to tear apart a Green card - u need a sharp instrument - and be careful because u may hurt urself if u do it with the levels of frustration :) :)

Secondly, the USCIS does not care what we say to them, they are going to take exactly how much time they want to take to process our Green cards. All I was suggesting was, we ask for interim relief. Now like Logiclife mentioned we are trying for smaller bits of interim relief and that is a reasonable answer. However please do not make remarks like "this person is here to make money and is not after GC". Are we not all after making money? Is that not why we want GCs? If you are not in india, then you are somewhere to earn more than you do than in india. So investment is safe if you can afford to invest in that property without a loan. If you are taking a loan you are getting ripped off. STOP there.
to me agricultural land is next to investment in gold. agri land always holds value(sale value) or appreciates over time. Always you can get decent return by farming something there. So my belief is you always get 6%+ return on investment over short/long period of time.
city properties are just a ripp off. So get only one property if you want to live for yourself.. Investment of say 50 lacs on a flat(condo), may give you a good rent. But for how long? and what % of interest you pay on that loan? And what will the aging affect be on that flat!!...

I agree. I feel that the only thing that would be acheived if IV became a paid website is loss of membership. Then our PR documents will start with "IV is an organization of 200 members who are affected by ... "

It may not be popular here, but IMHO PD porting within the same filing category can be allowed, but not retaining the same PD if you are "upgrading" to another category.
I remember one person giving an analogy of a queue in a grocery store. I would like to give a different take on it. One express line and another regular line. Lets say the regular line moves real slow and the express line is well express. However the express line slows down, but is not as slow as the regular line. The person waiting in a regular line decides enough is enough, moves to express line (by dumping the items that exceed the express line limit).
How would the people in the express line react if the person from the regular line tries to "retain" his or her position by cutting into the express line, stating that he/she was before them, but only in a different line?
If you think logically, that is the case we have here with category interfiling.
I would recommend some sort of compromise, as its not fair either to ask EB3 people to move to the end of queue, as all said and done they've been able to bargain with their employer to apply for their GC, while we did enjoy a bit in grad school, and came out with a sense of entitlement. :D

I have talked to IMG sales rep, he said they won't cover for pre existing conditions. He also said that as far as his knowledge is concerned there is no company out there that covers pre existing conditions when I asked him about it.
My final assumption is that any insurance we buy anywhere, just covers illnesses that are developed after the coverage starts.
Any corrections??

We already have chapters as the first and foremost source of valuable information. Once someone becomes involved and committed, they will signup for monthly contributions themselves. If we have enough of that to guarantee a decent source of recurring income like 20 40 k or whatevr, I dont see the need to deprive some depressed soul surfing the net looking for some reassuring information from having to goto bed in peace.

I will keep on calling them and every time I hear a new thing.

At least we should know that what is cooking inside. Because people are hanging here from 2001, USCIS should let us know how many GC(s) assigned to EB-3 India/ROW in 2008.
I would like to add one more item here but I don't know how many know this fact. I have seen and know that when someone wins a green card from Lottery, USCIS gives GC to all dependent family members of that person and they count one GC but in EB base they count GC for all family member(Primary applicant plus all his/her dependents). I think this is an Unjustice with us. We should raise this issue too.

One of the abuse is to avoid paying tax.Some big companies are sending L1 persons out of the country after they complete 11 months(If L1 persons are staying more than 1 year company has to pay tax). Now L1 and H1 are having same type of of nature of work but L1 has so much undue advantages like L2 can work, No salary restrictions, Companies can avoid taxes in many circumstances with no restrictions in rules like H1b at all. No cap also.This is also some type of discrimination in the law. In fact L1 need to be capped than H1b as L1 is playing more role in displacing USA workers but many cases in H1b is creating more jobs by innovation.

Leave the PR and outreach efforts on Capitol Hill efforts to the core members. We need help from other members who are willing to dedicate their efforts to getting members. Talk to family, friends and colleagues. Talk to people in your classes, if you are taking part-time classes. Talk to your boss. Talk to your neighbors who are US citizens and get them to talk to Congressmen and Senators...send emails and letters to your Congressmen and Senators!

Please contribute what you can comfortably handle within your budget. Whether it is $20, or $ 50 or $500 is your call...the important thing is that people start contributing something...we need funds to support our lobbying activities. And please be assured...all expenses will be audited by a CPA. We are legally obligated to do this.

They have stronger opposing grass roots groups like Numbers USA, FAIR etc. Our issue is a lot less volatile compared to the H1B increase issue. How ever our issue is unknown to many lawmakers until recently. I am positive that some members came to know about the bills when we called them or have been approached by our state chapters.

My case is at TSC and we are half done...primary approved and dependent pending...told biometrics issue by lawyer thru AILA but as far as these forums go biometrics don't hold an approval otherwise I won't have been approved. i guess we carry the curse of transfered cases...mine was TSC-CSC-TSC
